Unusually high sales of popular products for lockdown can be both a gift and a challenge for leaders of multi-channel retail brands. The revenue is welcome but fulfilling the demand and maintaining service levels in difficult circumstances can be tricky, as can working out how to communicate with active, reactivated and new customers all behaving in different ways than expected.
